Terms of Use

These terms govern your use of Unbill, a service operated by Unbill LLC. By using Unbill you agree to them. Unbill is currently an invitation-only private beta: features are incomplete, may change or be withdrawn, and the service is provided so we can learn with a small group of participants.

What Unbill is, and is not

Unbill is an advocacy platform for navigating complex administrative and financial systems. It helps people build a connected record, understand what the evidence supports, identify issues worth attention, and prepare clear next steps. You decide what happens next.

Unbill’s current product applies this approach to healthcare administration and billing. Unbill provides billing audit assistance and administrative document preparation. Unbill is not a law firm or healthcare provider, and does not provide legal or medical advice. It is also not a licensed insurance or financial advisor and does not provide insurance or financial advice. Analyses and drafts may use artificial intelligence and may contain errors. Review important decisions carefully, and consult a qualified professional when your situation requires professional advice.

Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of agreeing to these Terms to create or use an Unbill account. A parent, legal guardian, or other legally authorized representative may use Unbill on behalf of another person, including a minor, only to the extent they have authority to do so.

Your account and acceptable use

• Access is by invitation; keep your sign-in credentials secure and do not share your account.
• Only upload or connect records that you have the right to provide, including your own records or records for a person whom you are legally authorized to represent.
• Do not misuse the service: no unauthorized access, probing, scraping, disruption, or use of the service to violate any law or another person’s rights.

Your content and authorization

You keep ownership of the documents and information you provide. You grant Unbill the limited rights needed to store, process, and analyze them in order to provide the service to you. Consequential actions, such as sending a letter or appeal, happen only after your explicit review and approval.

Consumer-directed health-record connections

If this feature is enabled for your account, you may direct a supported insurer, health plan, provider, or other record source to share read-only records with Unbill. Depending on the source, the requested categories may include Coverage, claims and Explanations of Benefits, providers, service dates, billing or procedure codes, financial adjudication, physician and hospital notes, procedures, conditions, and other health-record files. Unbill cannot change payer or provider records, contact your care team through this connection, or write information back to the source.

A connection is voluntary and begins only after you review the requested access and complete the applicable authorization and consent flow. Unbill uses Flexpa as a service provider to facilitate supported patient-authorized connections. Flexpa and the connected source may also present their own terms and privacy notices. You authorize Unbill to encrypt, store, normalize, and analyze the imported records to provide the service. Clinical and customer-document AI inference is processed through Anthropic Claude on Amazon Bedrock under Unbill’s AWS Business Associate Agreement. Connected evidence may identify something to verify; missing or incomplete data is not proof that a service was not performed, covered, or correctly adjudicated, and Unbill does not make medical or legal determinations.

Connected records are assigned to the healthcare profile for the person receiving care. Applicable coverage and plan information may be reused across that person’s Cases without another upload, but will not be made available to a different person’s profile merely because both profiles are in the same household. You represent that you are connecting your own records or records for a person whom you are legally authorized to represent.

Connected records are used only to provide your requested record organization, billing review, answers, plan-specific research, administrative materials, support, deletion, or security functions. They are not used for advertising, general research, model training, product analytics, or product improvement. Unbill is a consumer app acting at your direction, not your insurer, healthcare provider, or Flexpa.

You may disconnect a source and request deletion of imported records. Disconnecting in Unbill may not revoke an authorization maintained by Flexpa, a payer, or a provider; you may also need to revoke it through that service’s connected-app settings or through Flexpa. Data returned by connected sources may be unavailable, incomplete, delayed, duplicated, masked, or inconsistent. Unbill does not guarantee that every source can be connected or that every available record will be returned. Beta service; no guarantees

The private beta is currently provided free of charge. The service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Unbill does not guarantee any outcome, including that a billing issue will be found, corrected, or reduced. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Unbill LLC’s total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim (which, during the free beta, is zero), and Unbill LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages.

Unbill Transactional SMS Updates

The program name is Unbill Transactional SMS Updates. If you voluntarily enroll, Unbill may send content-minimized transactional case updates and dispute checklists to the mobile number you provide. Consent is not a condition of purchase, and the program does not send marketing messages.

• Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

Termination

You may stop using Unbill at any time and may request deletion of your information (see the Privacy Policy). We may suspend or end beta access, for example for misuse or as the beta itself changes, and will communicate before access changes whenever reasonably possible.

Changes and contact
